The American Red Cross is well known for its wartime support efforts. The Production Corps, one of its most popular volunteer units, was organized in 1916 to make surgical dressings and clothing for both war refugees and our own troops. “Comfort items” such as hand-knitted socks, sweaters, soap and razors were also requested for the men. Between 1917 and 1919, over 370 million relief articles were produced by adult and junior Red Cross Production Corps members. This World War I poster recruits volunteers to join a nationwide knitting campaign sponsored by the Red Cross to supply soldiers and civilians with warm clothing.

Over Christmas I have been knitting, nothing better than sitting in front of the fire with a cuppa and a challenging pattern.

I have been knitting a little cardi for a friends baby crossing my fingers it's going

to look good on!!

Planning to start blogging a lot about the lambing season as I have a months hard work in a lambing shed in March. Lets hope I don't take to many home!!

Christmas Preparations

Thursday the 22nd December ..... Christmas is here only a few days to go and I'm really excited to have all the coming family back to the parents. I've been staying at the here for a few weeks now for a bit of a break which has been refreshing and it is lovely to be able to walk the dogs and make things together. Today mum and me have been busy putting up the christmas decorations, visiting friends and polishing the silver!! Hoping to go and see the lovely Mrs Green tomorrow. Will write more soon xx

I have been binding albums for days now and at last they are ready to be sent out packaged up, just waiting for an address conformation.

I use Leather in loads of different colours blue, pink, red, brown the list goes on. As the in the cover I usually try to us a material but sometime it's great to use an old map or order of service. The more creative the better in my eyes. I'm going to be binding over the winter so will keep you updated with my progress. xx

Kerry the bride look a very natural bride taking everything in her stride with husband to be a couple of days before grazing his face when he was out with friend, drink to much JD! Little bridesmaid Megan, Kerry's daughter was a delight with her cheeky smile running around taking photos I'll have to try and hire her as my assistant!
